MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Mar. 30, 2017) The newly installed SeaRAM close-in weapons system aboard USS Ross (DDG 71) successfully fires a missile for the first time March 30, 2017. Ross, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe and Africa.
