Berkeley, Gloucestershire, England, UK: alabaster effigy of James, 11th Lord Berkeley (d. 1463), in the Berkeley family mortuary chapel south of the chancel in the Minster Church of St Mary the Virgin. Plate armour covered by a tabard with the Berkeley arms of crosses patée. Head rests on a tilted helm, long straight hair, throat protected by a gorget with a Yorkist white rose collar below. Sword (R) & dagger: a misericord(e) for dispatching a wounded enemy. Restored hands at prayer wearing gauntlets.
