COMPARISON WITH OTHER FORMS With the exception of the metanephridia of the females of species belonging to the family Cephalotrichidae, the excretory systems of all nemerteans in which such organs have been discovered are of the protonephridial type. In the numerous species of hathypelagic nemer- teans, as well as in the littoral Prosadcnoponis, no trace of an excretory system has yet been found. Characteristic of the vast majority of species is a system of simple.
