American soldier Private Bernard B. Gooch of Machine Gun Company, 18th Infantry, 1st Division, receiving the Croix de Guerre for bravely delivering a message to the rear while under fire. The ceremony took place in Little Freissy, France, on May 15, 1918. Gooch later returned to his post. Censored and released by the Censor on June 28, 1918.
