The 553rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion became the 553rd Division Sustainment Support Battalion in a ceremony April 16 at Fort Hood. The conversion isn’t just a name change, as the battalion’s mission becomes more focused on direct support to the 1st Cavalry Division.
