Maui, Hawaii, Upcountry, Ulupalakua, Cowboy Figurine
Ulupalakua is an area of upcountry Maui which has a long history as farm land growing sugar cane, cattle and now wine grapes. The land is still used for ranching with a large tract set aside for preservation of its agricultural heritage. The Ulupalakua Ranch Store & Grill is also part of the historic narrative and is open daily with Maui-grown produce as well as Ranch-grown lamb, beef and elk served fresh from the grill. Originally, the store served as a ranch grocery, then a cowboy supply store and later a mercantile store. It would appear this cowboy has arrived to pick up a few items before returning to herding cattle.
