A Lanner Falcon (Falco biarmicus) at Batsford Falconry Centre Gloucester
Started in 1988 Cotswold Falconry houses around 150 Birds of Prey many can be seen during the free flying demonstrations, while over thirty separate species have been bred in our successful but non commercial breeding aviaries. The aim of the centre is to promote the greater understanding of birds of prey through education and fun, Over 20,000 visitors per year pass through and many return for future visits, In addition to the daily demonstration of free flying birds of prey you can follow the path through our Owl woods a natural setting where the birds are encouraged to breed as they would in their native environment, of course it would be impossible to recreate all the habitats but if successful in breeding we would assume the birds are comfortable in their surrounding, of course you can witness this natural breeding behaviour as close proximity.
