Castell Dinas Brân, an Iron Age hillfort and the ruins of a Medieval castle, above the Vale of Llangollen, Denbighshire, North Wales, UK.

Castell Dinas Brân, The castle of the fort of Brân: Iron Age hillfort named after Brân, the Celtic god/chieftain Bran the Blessed, who is supposed to have lived a few hundred years before King Arthur in whose time the site was reputed to be the Castle of the Grail guarded by the Fisher King (who may have originated as Brân). Dinas Brân became a stronghold of Eliseg who ruled Powys mid C8th. Standing remains date from medieval castle built by Lords of Powys Fadog c. 1270 who burnt the castle in 1277 & left the ruin to be garrisoned by the English.
