The species are all American, all hardy, and are popular because of the abundance and brightness of the berries. The flowers are inconspicuous in size but pinkish in color, in July. The fruit soon forms and, in the cultivated species, is exceedingly abundant. The leaves are opposite, simple, short-stemmed, feather- veined with entire (sometimes lobed) edges. They.
