The fruit is large, smooth, and regular; of a bright red color; ripens perfectly to the stem, and seldom rots or cracks. Per pkt, 5 cts.; oz. 25 cts.; ^ lb. 70 cts.; lb. $ Dwarf Champion. This magnificent va- riety is entii-ely distinct in habit of growth and foliage. The plant grows stiff and upright, the thick, short-jointed stems being self-sup- porting even when laden with fruit. This sort is very popular in the trucking sections of New Jersey, where it is largely grown as an extra early shipper. The vines grow strong, stiff, and very rapidly, setting the crown fruit when young, the buds often ap- pearing before the plant is four inches high. The fruit is borne in large clusters, each vine pro- â ducing from sixty to eighty large, perfect fruits, very solid, and of the finest quality, being un- usually free from core and seeds.
