Namaqualand mountains, South Africa, satellite image. This is the mountainous Kamiesberge region in southern Namaqualand. Portions of this region were turned in a national park in 1999 to preserve the abundant wildlife and colourful wild flowers found in the area. Image acquired in visible and infrared wavelengths on 23 August 2000 by the Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) sensor on NASA's Landsat 7 satellite.
