Opera and Theatre Parties.— The opera or theatre partyis a pleasant mode of offering hospitalities or conveying acompliment to a friend. Sometimes, in arranging these parties, a dinner is given atsix oclock, after which the company proceed to the opera incarriages provided by the host or hostess. The gentlemanassigned to a lady, to take her to dinner, becomes her escortduring the evening, and boxes are provided to accomodatewithout crowding the party.
