Methylhexanamin molecule, The dotted surface map represents the electrostatic potential across the molecule. The atoms carbon, hydrogen and oxygen are depicted as lines. Methylhexanamine, commonly known as 1, 3-dimethylamylamine or DMAA, is an indirect sympathomimetic drug. Methylhexanamine has been marketed under many names as an energy-boosting dietary supplement, but its safety has been questioned as a number of adverse events and at least 5 deaths have been associated with methylhexanamine-containing supplements. Since 2010 it has been banned by the World Anti Doping Agency as a performance-enhancing substance and suspended athletes that have used it.
