MALE GENITAL SYSTEM, DRAWING
The testicles are the male gonads. The two testicles are egg-shaped, 4 to 5 cm long and divided into lobules. They contain the seminal glands and Sertoli's cells, which ensure the production of spermatozoa. The seminal ducts lead into the epididymus, located on the testicle, from which the deferent duct exits. The spermatozoa travel through this duct to the seminal vesicles, then to the urethra. The testicle therefore has both an exocrine function (spermatogenesis) and an endocrine function, since the hormonal secretion of testosterone produces the modifications involved in puberty and the development of the male sexual characteristics.
