Finally, he was so badly gassed that he couldnot see, but had to be given a direct order to reportto the first aid station. During the whole series ofengagements, Private Dasch did not sleep and taxedhis physical endurance to the utmost, at all timessetting to his comrades an example of utter disregardof danger and exceptional devotion to Service Cross.
