Changu Narayan is a less visited but very beautiful temple set on a hill overlooking the fertile fields of the Kathmandu valley The medieval streets are now lined with tourist shops though there isn’t the pressure to buy that you find from street hawkers in the capital These colourful wooden rocking horses are made locally and their sale adds to the meagre income of this traditional rural settlement The little boy certainly would like to have this toy as a memento to remember his visit but will have to practice his negotiating skills to haggle for the best price which might explain his cheeky look at the camera Perhaps he expects his father to buy it for him
