Newcastle Upon Tyne, 13th May 2016. An excavator on a low loader impacts a metro rail bridge on the A19 Tyne Tunnel road (south) in North Tyneside causing travel disruption for rail passengers and motorists. The incident occurred as a low loader truck transporting a earth mover travelled under the rail bridge between Howdon and Percy Main metro stations smashing the construction vehicle jib upon the bridges structure causing travel chaos as Friday's rush hour began.
