Markedly ditterent from the old Fordhook in that pods are concentrated not only in regard to position but also in time of reaching maturity. The plants are stocky, without tendrils, and very prolific. 334 Days 75 70 Fordhook, Asgrow strain: very prolific and concentrated. A single plant. â HENDERSON'S BUSH . 234 34 65 Sometimes called Baby Lima, and known in the South as a Butter Bean. The Asgrow strain has been bred particularly for increased yielding power and concentration in season. Plant small, dark green, erect, bushy, very early. Pods flat, containing 3-4 flattish, small oval beans. Dry beans creamy white: 70 per oz. â ILLINOIS LARGE PODDED Z 3A 71 Developed by Prof. W. A. Huelsen, University of Illinois, pri- marily to make available for the Midwest a variety of Hen- derson's Bush type but with ability to set in hot weather and mature under droughty conditions. Plants, pods and seeds resemble Henderson's but are distinctly larger: seed 65 per oz. POLE LIMA BEANS CHALLENGER, IMPROVED (Fordhook Pole: Burpee's Best) A potato lima, similar in pod and seed to Fordhook Bush Lima. Plant vigorous, hardy, good climber, very productive. â Suitable for quick freezing. 92
