Environmental and health activists rally against PVC in toys in New York

Environmental and health activists with their supporters rally in front of the Toys R Us store in Times Square in New York on thursday, July 22, 2010 to voice their concern over the continued use of PVC in the manufacture of children's toys. The demonstrators asked Toys R Us to label the presence of PVC and to phase out the sale of products using the plastic. According to the activists Toys R Us had agreed to reduce the sale of PVC toys in 2008 but had not. Some Toy Story 3 product tie-ins have tested positive for the plastic. (© Richard B. Levine)
