It is said by some that the certainty of strong demand a little later is enough to prevent any material break in prices during the next few weeks. FORT WAYNE, IND. The Market. The characteristics of summer time have become apparent in the cut flower market. The general exodus to the lakes has begun, and few affairs of a social nature are being planned in the city. During the last week or two in June there were many wedding orders, but these have given place in early July to a few parties for out-of-town guests. Summer stock is plentiful. Kaiserin, Killarney and Eichmond are the stand- ards in roses. There are quantities of Easter lilies on the market. Sweet peas are small, due to the exceedingly hot weather of the last few weeks. Out- door varieties are now making their ap- pearance. Other outdoor flowers, such as coreopsis, Japanese iris, hydrangea, etc., are now to be seen in great pro- fusion. Carnations are fine for July, and quantities are on the market daily. Some good snapdragons are also in. Greens of all kinds are scarce. The shipping business is good. Various Notes. Frank Knecht's new range of green- h(>use3 was quite extensively damaged by a wind storm recently.
