A heavy hauberk, European, 15th/16th centuries. Heavy mail with alternating rows of riveted and closed rings of oval cross section. Thigh length shirt with half sleeves. The neck cutout on the front is fashioned so that it overlaps. Short collar with two (later?) iron fastening hooks. The lower edge is slit both front and back. Blackened and varnished.
