Staff Sgt. David D. Poldoski, senior drill instructor, Receiving Company, Support Battalion, welcomes new recruits to the depot during receiving at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, July 25. Recruits are initially taught the position of attention as well as that that they will now eat, sleep and train as a team. This is where the transformation begins for each recruit. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Echo Company is scheduled to graduate Oct. 21.
