A gold prospector watching his horse pulls a Pudding Machine at Sovereign Hill open-air-museum in the suburb of Ballarat in the state of Victoria, Australia. The Pudding Machine pulled by a horse was introduced in 1852. It helps break up the stiff clay found in the Australian alluvial fields. The gold containing sediment is finally washed in cradle and panned in the nearby creek. The museum illustrates the lives and working conditions of pioneers during the gold rush since the discovery of gold in 1851. In 1970, the museum opened to the public and has become a popular tourist attraction.
