A carved wooden helmet, Chinese/Taiwanese, 19th century. One-piece helmet made from hardwood. The outside completely carved with stylised faces, geometrical decorations as well as a snake on the crown plate. Several continuous rows of inlaid copper and brass pins, some of them underlaid with horn discs. Two braided chin straps attached to the helmet.
