The type specimen of Pandaros angulosa, at the Museo ed Istituto di Zoologia Sistenaatica of the Turin University, is clearly the specimen which DucHASSAiNG & MiCHELOTTi figured (1864: PI. XIX, Fig. 4). It is in the dry state. The ectosomal skeleton is a reticulation of rather loose plurispicular fibres 20 to 50 [im. thick, forming meshes 180- 260 [xm wide. The choanosomal skeleton consists of a network, dense but devoid of regularity, of plurispicular fibres up to 140 [xm thick. Many spicules are Fig. 54 - Lectotype of Pandaros anjulosa D. & M. The tyle is elongated and scarcely noticeable; the point, as a rule, is elongated and sharp ; the base is narrower than the middle of the shaft.
