Danish soldiers in chain-mail suits of The oldest armour of the Danes consisted of a helmet, breastplate and shield. However, immediately after the conquest of Britain, they already had a complete suit of armour, as seen in 69, 70, and 71. The swords were longer and larger than those of the Saxons.
