Tapestry 'Summer', Christiansborg Palace, Copenhagen, Denmark

Several castles have occupied this site since the first one built in 1167. The present building is the 5th one, and the third Christiansborg Palace, built from 1907-1928 in Neo-Baroque style, the previous two having burned down. It contains a number of government buildings, the Royal Stables and the Royal Reception Rooms with its collection priceless tapestries in the Great Hall. Christiansborg Palace had a wonderful collection of Gobelin Tapestries. Gobelin is a famous maker of tapestries in Paris since 1602 (yes, over 400 years), and is still in operation today.
