Boats (Pauline de Dahouet) in the lock on the River Lyvet of the coastal river La Rance (Côtes d'Armor, Brittany, France).
For editorial only. The Rance is a coastal river in western France, in Brittany. It rises in the mountains of Méné to Collinée in the department of Cotes d'Armor, and empties into the English Channel between Dinard and Saint Malo in the Ille-et-Vilaine. La Route du Cidre each year beginning in September, is a gathering of boats for a regatta, the dam of the Rance to the port of Dinan, passing through the locks of Chatelier. The Cider Route was created almost thirty years ago, the race refers to the history of coastal river: the Rance was an important focus for commercial navigation. Dinan exported its cider, timber, vegetables to the old walled city of St Malo and boats including related fish.
