Herehe also early became an office bearer in the First PresbyterianChurch, and was on his way to great usefulness when failinghealth resulted in his death at ]\[innoapolis, ]\Iinn., on September6, 1892, in his forty-fifth year. A Springfield paper, in its no-tice of his death, fittingly said, Mr. Barr was one of Spring-fields most honored and respected citizens. Mrs. John S.
