REV. WILLIAM HOOD Was ordained in 1845 at the request ofthe Wabash Christian church. Hisname was dropped from the roll in 1849. REV. ALPHEUS IDEN Was converted and joined church in1875. He was educated at Stanford-ville, N. Y., and united with this Con-ference as a licentiate in 1877. Duringthe following year he served a churchin New York. In 1881 he was ordainedat the Merriam church. His name wasdropped from the roll in 1882. He isnow a member of an Illinois Confer-ence and the pastor of several churches. REV. DAVID WINSTON JONES President Eel River Christian Conference 1872 to 1SS3 Was born Juh 11, 1821, near the city ofDayton, Ohio. His parents, Obadiahand Ann Pearson Jones, were reputableQuakers or Friends, and he, therefore,had a birth-rig-ht membership in thatchurch, and was brought up strictly inthat faith. He attended the commonschools of that period, including- theSunda3^ School, and became proficientin the elementary branches, and com-mitted manj poems, and passagesfrom the Holy Scriptures, that remainvivid in memory to this day. HisFirst Reader in school was a copj ofthe New Testament. This about com-pleted his education; for in 1834, when14 3ears of age, he removed with hispare
