The water on the Moness burn cascades by the Birks of Aberfeldy in Perthsire, Scotland in Autumn.

The Moness river or burn at The Birks of Aberfeldy in Autumn. This is the name given to an area in highland Perthshire in Scotland. The name derives from the old Scottish word for a Birch tree, Birk or Birken. It is also the title of a song written for a pre-existing melody in 1787 by Robert Burns, Scotland's national poet. He was inspired to write it by the Falls of Moness and the birch trees of Aberfeldy during a tour of the Highlands of Scotland. In addition to birch trees this is a mixed woodland surrounding the river, mainly deciduous with many beech trees as seen in this image in the lower level of the walk. Higher up there are spectacular water falls on the river or burn.
