Frons above not half as broad as the eye, rather protruding;cheeks likewise not half as broad as the eye, and jowls not reaching 492 Fig. 104. Head of E. vivida. S • half the height of the eye. Orbits,cheeks and epistoma pale yellowish,but the orbits dark reflecting; jowlsgrey; frontal stripe blackish. Frontalbristles reaching below insertion ofantennæ. Orbits black-haired; jowhwith longer black hairs. Occiput darkgrey, yellowish below along the eye-margin, with pale yellow hairs androws of black hairs behind postocularbristles. Eyes pale-haired. Antennæblack, second joint not as long asthird, the latter somewhajt dilatedoutwards, rounded at end; aristathickened in about basal half, secondjoint short. Palpi yellow, a littledarkened at base. Thorax bluishblack, somewhat shining, whitish grey pruinose anteriorly and herewith the beginning of four black stripes, the middle approximate;sciitellum more or less reddish or quitedark.
