Airport arrivals departures international flights Stansted airport drop off entrance exit interesting design Norman Foster

The terminal building was designed by Foster Associates with input from the structural engineer Peter Rice that features a "floating" roof being supported by a space frame of inverted-pyramid roof trusses with the intention of creating an impression of a stylised swan in flight. A floating roof supported by a frame of inverted roof trusses makes use of indirect lighting and natural light for a calming effect.
