The germinating tests of this season's seeds should prove conclusively the dan- ger in any law forbidding the sale of seeds that do not germinate up to an arbitrary standard. The Holland bulb growers have had a bad planting season—so wet that it re- tarded operations—and the acreage is » thought to be rather less than usual. It is figured that the 1913 crop is not likely to turn out a record for quantity. Geo. Ei Evans, who established a seed business several years ago in Gainesville, Fla., under the name of the G. E. Evans Seed Co., has sold his interests there to H. J. Babers and will engage in a sim- ilar line in Jacksonville, Fla., but on a larger scale.
