He is holding an open book with his right hand, resting it on his knee, and holding a marker in his left hand. To the right of the seat, the lion sits next to a table on which the cardinal's hat is lying. There is an arched window to the right of the throne in the wall of the room, which, like the floor, has a punched surface. The medallion has a smooth raised edge. This is set in a toothed, profiled edge that is decorated with a repeating frieze of flower
