Rusting, abandoned World War II military hardware, left for many years after being dumped in the sea


Vaunatu played host to a major US military base during the second world war. After the war, rather than spend considerable sums of money repatriating military hardware that might not have any future use, it was abandoned. Much of it remains visible to this day.
