Judy Patrol Leader dates from 1966 although the story was first published back in 1934, written by Dorothea Moore who was a Guide leader between the wars. The cover artist, Frank Varty, has updated the uniform. Frank's work adorned hundreds of children's books in the 1950s and 60s. Dorothea herself died in 1934 and The Children's Press was a range from Collins Publishers, making the most out of their back-catalogue.
