Brigadier General William M. Jurney, commanding general, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego/Western Recruiting Region, gives a speech at the Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System, Nov. 7. Jurney spoke about the pride of being a Marine and the honor of being able to pay the veterans a visit. He took part in a cake cutting ceremony in celebration of the Marine Corps’ 241st birthday, which is Nov. 10, 1775. Veterans from the other military branches also attended the ceremony.
