The arrest of Broussel and the leaders of the oppostion in the Paris Parlement, 26th August, 1648. Pierre Broussel, Councillor in the Parlement of Paris, a popular politician, he was arrested by Cardinal Mazarin due to his opposition to tax plans proposed by the latter, in response, the people of Paris rebelled and Mazarin was forced to free Broussel two days later.
