Old Town Bridge over the Nidelva, a twin lifting bascule type, build 1861 replacing an earlier one of 1681, with brightly painted old wooden warehouses beyond. On the extreme right skyline is Kristiansten Festning (Fortress), built by General Johan Caspar de Cicignon, after the great fire of 1681 which destroyed most of the city.
