SAGAMI WAN, Japan (Jan. 23, 2023) Howard Sailors and a MH-60R Seahawk helicopter, attached to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 51, prepare for securing from helicopter in-flight refueling (HIFR) aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83). Howard is assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
