The temple of San Pietro in Montorio, by architect Bramante, was commissioned by the Catholic Kings of Spain.

The temple of San Pietro in Montorio, by architect Bramante, erected towards 1502 - 1510, in one of the courtyards of the Franciscan convent in Rome, current Academy of Spain in Rome. It was commissioned by the Catholic Kings of Spain to commemorate the victory of the Battle of Granada in 1492, standing in the place where tradition says St. Peter was martyred. This work is considered to be the manifesto of Renaissance classicism architecture because of its clean lines and decorative austerity.
