Now they are building ahome for the teachers. They have aproud and independent spirit, theseOtomi people; and it was probably thissame spirit which led their forebears tothe rocky fastnesses when the foreignconquerors claimed their rich valleysand would have made them slaves. The occasion of our visit is m^ade es-pecially important by the fact that weare to examine the school; and thebuildings
