Wiltshire is a shire county in the South West of England and borders the counties of Dorset, Somerset, Hampshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire, its county town being Trowbridge. It is mostly rural landscape and has a temperate climate which is generally wetter and milder than the rest of the UK. The county is steeped in history and notable for its pre roman archaeology and Neolithic and Bronze Age people that occupied the county and built settlements such as Stonehenge and Avebury being the most famous Neolithic sites in the UK.
