Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) scan. Reconstructed brain white matter fibres of the fornix, which is involved in memory consolidation, and the corpus callosum that connect the two sides of our brain. DTI offers a non-invasive look into how white matter, the highways of our brain, connect distant brain regions. Each fibre shown represent many thousands of actual fibres in the human brain. Colours are coded as; left to right - red, anterior to posterior - green, and superior to inferior - blue.
