Stroke Treatment

This composite of 3 frontal angiogrpahic images show 1. Aucte thrombo-embolic occlusion of the superior division of the middle cerebral artery. 2. Super-selective lysis of the clot through a microcatheter with tPA and 3. Post-lysis angiogram showing reconstitution of flow in the previously blocked artery. This is an example of what can be done when a person with an acute stroke is identified early enough (usually within 6 hours of onset of symptoms) in the appropriate setting.
