There is in Frank W. Spear a weight of character, a nativesagacity, a far-seeing judgment and a fidelity of purpose that commands therespect of all. A man of indefatigable enterprise and fertility of recourse, hehas carved his name deeply on the record of the commercial, industrial andphilanthropical history of the state which owes much of its advancement tohis efforts.
