SAS Amatola Valour Class Frigate of The South African Navy in Cape Town


SAS Amatola is a modern Valour Class Frigate of the South African Navy seen here on a courtesy visit to Cape Town during exercises with the German Navy. Her keel was laid down on 6 August 2001 and she was launched on 6 June 2002. She was built by Blohm and Voss at their shipyard in Hamburg Germany and commissioned on 16 February 2006.
