Clinging to mum. Madhya Pradesh, India: THESE RARE images mark one of the first sightings of DJ the tigress and her three-month-old cubs as they patrol their jungle home. One image shows the tigress walking down the road with her pack of three-month-old cubs. Keeping them in check is no easy task, one even starting to stray as mum prowls on. T27 or Dhawajandhi, known as DJ, is a resident Bengal tigress in Kanha National Park. She has recently given birth to a litter of five cubs, who are only three and a half months old now. Female Bengal tigers can grow up to 76 inches long, with the addition of a 43-inch tail, and can weigh up to 344 pounds. These images were captured by wildlife safari mentor and photographer Camilla Malvestiti (38) at Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh, India, using a Canon 6D mark ii camera. ?My guests and I entered the forest of Kanha for a safari, hoping to successfully track one of the resident tigers,? said Camilla. ?All of a sudden, passing in front of a narrow path, we noticed some movement. Out of habit, I asked our jeep driver to go back and check, certain to find a deer or a jackal coming out of the bushes. ?What followed was nothing but the immense privilege to be witness to nature?s most perfect miracle of life. ?Dhawajandhi tigress and her new litter of five tiny cubs started walking towards our lone vehicle. ?The rarity of the moment, the ability to capture an interaction between a tigress and her small cubs and learning about their behaviour. ?These are among the first photos of this litter, which makes it even more exclusive and precious. ?I have been incredibly lucky to have witnessed this mediadrumimages/CamillaMalvestiti
