The trustees reported everything in readiness for the picnic, to be held July 17 at Preister's park. Chairman De Wever, of the bulletin committee, made a lengthy report for his committee. State Vice-president F. H. Weber, of the S. A. F., reported on transporta- tion to the Chicago convention. A vote was then taken to decide which railroad should be chosen, and the Wa- bash railroad won, with three other roads in competition. The following florists made applica- tion for membership: Fred W. Pape, L. Baumann, Frank A. Windier, Chas. W. Fullgraf, E. G. Eggeling, J. J. Windier, Max Herzog and Albert Gums. The election of these will take place at the next meeting. The following members were placed in nomination for the various offices: President, Fred H. Weber and Jules Bourdet; vice-president, Charles Young and Gust. Grossart; secretary, W. C. Young and J. J. Beneke; treasurer, W. C. Smith and C. C. Bergstermann; trustees, F. J. Fillmore, William Ossick, John Connon, Hugo Werner and Frank Vennemann. The election will follow at the next meeting. C. E. De Wever then led a discussion on "The Value of Overhead and Sub- ; In this he was assisted by Jules Bourdet and Gust. Grossart. The Skinner system of irrigation came in for a great deal of praise from those taking part. This was followed by a discussion, led by Henry Emunds, on '' Chrysanthemum Growing—Both Early and Late ; C. C. Sanders and F. J. Fillmore assisted in this dis- cussion. In this
